‘Interactive Provision’

A community center in SS15 where members of a community can gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. Open for the whole community or a specialized group within the greater community. Why Da Hub? The meaning of hub is the effective center/ core/focal point of an activity, region, or network. As good as the meaning, this community center will be the main attraction of the society. When people want to do something, the first things that came up on their mind is Da Hub.

Da Hub was design based on ‘Interactive Provision concept’. The definition of interactive is action and communication between two people or two things, such as two-way communication and provision is the action of providing or supplying something for use. This community center would provide and offer such experience that can help develop the social relationships within the community. The word ‘community’ derived from the Latin word ‘communutas’ means ‘the same’. Community is an interacting population of diverse groups of people in a commonplace and having common interests. People with the same interests but different social, religious and political backgrounds who come to play, to learn or to work together for personal satisfaction or community improvements.

Da Hub’s design that drove by the expressions of interactive and provision will help to improve the value and harmony of the community. The aesthetic value of Da Hub will spark some interest in the community to use the facilities and participate in any activities. The combination of earthy colors gives us the sensation of a warm and homely feeling. In which, the visitors would feel like they are a part of the community and society. As the people aspiration and choices are more diverse, Da Hub strives to come up with something new that can carter to what the people need. Running away from the old design and basic facilities of the community center, Da Hub chooses to come up with new facilities that can attract both the young and old generation. By having a recreation center nearby, Da Hub uses this opportunity to go for an activity that can be somewhat fun, relaxing and interactive for the community. The difference in terms of facilities and design would make Da Hub stand out from the rest. It’s hard to get the youth or younger generation to join any sort of community activities as they are glued to mobile devices. With that in mind, Da Hub tries to provide and develop a design that in hope can interest them to participate or use the community center more in the future.
